Thirty-seven year old toes

The babies slept ALL NIGHT LONG the night before my birthday!!!! I, of course, woke up frequently expecting to hear them shriek. But still, that was quite a gift. And the cold shitty weather turned gorgeous and balmy. The hyacinths that Bun Bun and I planted last fall were all like, Oh, it’s your birthday? SPROING!

I imagine Bunlet toddling or at least crawling around the yard at the end of this summer, and…words can’t describe it. Pictures are better.

2013. Bun Bun brought me some sticks. Hyacinths in far left quadrant. In vegetable garden, collard plant that no one wants to eat.

Idyllic. Brachetto d’Acqui (fizzy wine that is prefect for summer).

But, lest you murder the hell out of me, I will relate the following: Last night the babies woke up at ALL THE HOURS, and today the house was a mess, and my husband was annoying, and I’ve determined that I may actually have to change some of my habits if I want to feel healthier and less lard-assed and decrepit.

  1. Look at the cheeks on that boy!! Happy birthday!

Here’s to more sleep. Have Bun Bun call Tiny Boy and let him in on the secret.

  4. Such a gorgeous series of pictures!

Sorry to hear about the wake-ups… I hate those nights (though thankfully they’re so infrequent now and really require both children being ill at the same time). Good luck with the habit changing–it’s never as easy as you feel it should be. First World Problems!

  9. Good heavens above. I was convinced you were about 34. But see, now I understand that a) time moves for bunny, too and b) I have been reading your blog for 3 years.
Both are STARTLING REALISATIONS, as you can imagine.

A very happy birthday to you, bunny. Enjoy most thoroughly.

Happy Birthday! So glad the babies shaped up on the sleeping, at least for a night. So envious of your yard…we’re still snow-covered here. Sigh.

Happiest of belated birthdays. Wishing the porcupines a swift exit from your birthday week divan. I, too, love these pics, and the whole idea behind them…time passes, babies are grown & hoarded, but your lovely feet never change.

  18. Oh, how I love the birthday post. Thank you for lining up (columnizing) the pictures of the toes, tummy and babies over the years. It’s an amazing progression to see in one post, and to remember reading each of the previous years’ birthday posts. You have an exquisite sense of occasion, dear bunny. Happy Birthday.
p.s. I volunteer to eat the collards.
